To wake up last weekend and see my novella, A BUSH CHRISTMAS sitting in the top ten books to be downloaded on iTunes was humbling. I swear I nearly fell off my chair in a dead faint. Then my publisher texted me Sunday morning to say we’d made it to No. 2.

We have a winner for the 'Surrender to Summer' competition. But first I'd like to thank all the lovely people who took the time to enter. It was such a hard choice with so many different things to do with 'the brick' once you'd managed to read all 1200 pages! I loved all the entries so it was a very diificult decision.

The family is on the road again, for our yearly trip into a never, never that is beyond our own. After drenching calves, trucking a couple of steers to the sale yards (nothing like last minute farming decisions) and throwing the last minute items in the Engel, we finally headed off late last Monday morning, leaving the eldest son at home to house/farm sit.

What better excuse for a smoko break than a visit from one of your mates. And what is better during smoko than sharing a few of our favourite things (and I'm not just talking about the cakes here!).

After couple of weeks of floods, an earthquake and a monumental frost, I thought I'd try and deliver some good news today.

I’m home. The whirlwind touring to promote my debut novel, Bella’s Run … has finally come to a halt.

Whilst particularly thrilled to see the very positive comments about BELLA'S RUN in Passing Muster in The Age / Sydney Morning Herald over the weekend, it was equally as pleasing to see Australian Rural Writers get a mention in "the big smoke".

Our first night on the road to Southern NSW was spent beside the stunning Lake Eucumbene in the Snowy Mountains. We found ourselves wishing for a ski boat behind the 4x4 as well as the caravan, as we gazed out over the glassy water of the lake early on Tuesday morning. But there was no time to dally and we hit the Snowy Mountains Highway bound for Tumut.

Yes, well, we're going to catch up with these ... promise, but going back in history just a little to last Friday, which is the third day of the book tour!
